I had a great time at the event, Xphere has a nice Xball field, and things seemed to go pretty smoothly. Thanks to all the teams that hired me for the event, and I hope to see everyone at MWN #2!

Yeah yeah, click the photo for the pictures!

Tomorrow is the first NCPA event of the season here in the Midwest North conference, so I will be spending all day in Faribault covering the event. It’s going to be held at Xphere Paintball, which I hear is a really nice field. I have never been there myself, so I am looking forward to it. The forecast looks good as well, so I expect to get some awesome photos. Look for them to be online sunday morning if I am quick enough.

In other news, I picked up some new gear this week. It’s not quite as exciting as a new camera or lens, but I think it is pretty neat. I stopped by West Photo and National Camera and got a Bogen light stand, Wescott 43″ folding umbrella, umbrella swivel, and PC sync cords. This means I can now run my Canon 430EX off-camera, and have a lot more control over my lighting. I have been working my way through the archives over at www.strobist.com, picking up all the info I can get. I still plan to get some wireless triggers, 2 more strobes, and a couple more stands and umbrellas to give me more options, but this is a good start.

~120 photos from the fall Giant Big Game at Splat Tag. Great game with a unique concept.

Plans for the rest of the year.

This weekend I shoot the Splat Tag Giant Big Game for PB2X, followed by the first Midwest North NCPA event of the season. I still have a couple of spots open for photo coverage there. After that I have a few weeks off (as of now) until World Cup, where I will be doing Xball and 5-man coverage, although I only have a couple 5-man spots left.

This winter I hope to shoot some snowboarding, skiing, and/or snowmobiling, so keep an eye out for new stuff!

I had a great time in Eau Claire, despite the rain and clouds. I really only got photos of the F-16 and F/A-18 demonstrations and the Blue Angels, so enjoy!

I really only got to see the Blue Angels, F-16, and Superhornet, but it was awesome all the same. The Golden Knights scrubbed their jump because of the weather, and the Air Force Heritage flight didn’t happen either. I also got rained on, but that’s ok. More photos to come!

Rained out…

September 14th, 2008

Went to the Faribault Airfest this morning, despite the poor weather. It never cleared up enough for the planes to do their thing, so I strolled around and got some photos of the B-25 and other displays, then went to the Steinlicht’s to see the kittens, Mowgli and Baloo. I leave you with a couple of photos of them, and of a puppy that was at the airshow instead of awesome airplane photos. Hopefully tomorrow is nicer, I guess the Chippewa Valley Air Show was rained out also, and I will be there tomorrow if it is nice enough.

I was mostly filming, but managed to get some cool photos of the protests and police presence. Enjoy!

Again, they have been up for a bit, but here is the post.

Yeah, I know they have been up for a couple of weeks, but here is the official post! I had a great time at my first airshow, and learned a lot. I hope the stuff I picked up will come in handy at the 2 airshows this weekend. As usual, click the photo to get to the pics.
